Intended Use

The A:G ratio is a calculation derived from total protein and
albumin measurements. Low ratios found in cirrhosis and other liver
diseases, glomerulonephritis and nephrotic syndrome, myeloma, severe
infections, chronic inflamatory states.

Limitations

The test is not specific and not useful when used alone. It
has principally historic interest. Electrophoresis provides more
information.
